Major Highlights of the Week

Login Issues
Users face difficulties logging in due to PIN and FaceID malfunctions, leading to prolonged access issues. This problem persists despite attempts to resolve it through customer support.
The app switched to using a PIN instead of FaceID, and I couldn't get a new PIN despite contacting support.
Pricing Discrepancies
The app's insurance rates are significantly higher than competitors, causing dissatisfaction among cost-conscious users. This pricing issue is exacerbated by misleading discount offers.
I received a 30% discount email, but the app only applied a 10% discount, and prices are still higher than competitors.
Account Recognition
The app fails to recognize existing accounts, preventing users from accessing their policies or purchasing new ones. This issue undermines the app's utility for managing insurance needs.
The app logs me in but then says it can't find my account, making it impossible to buy another policy.
Security Overload
Excessive security measures, such as multiple authentication steps, frustrate users and lead to app abandonment. Users prefer simpler login methods like email and password.
Too much security with phone codes and PINs; I prefer using a password saved on my keychain.

Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

I have recently used Tempcover for a few days insurance - purchase from their web was very easy and so I thought having the app would be an easy way to view current policy and to renew in the future. It loads and logs me in. It prompts you to confirm details, but then tells you that it cannot find your account. No way to scan in the QR code you are provided with and no way to buy another policy. Largely useless.

I have used Tempcover a lot. Spent a lot of money with them. My app hasn’t worked for almost a year. For some reason it decided to start using a Pin instead of my FaceID…. So I tried to get a Pin, unsuccessfully. Finally I got in touch with someone, it took me ages to convince them that something is genuinely wrong and it is not me just needlessly asking for a new Pin. So much more went on, which was unbelievable unhelpful. Apparently, they were going to get back to me, from the IT department to sort out my issue. That was last year. What a joke!

I used this app a few weeks ago. At that time you could arrange for insurance in advance. No issues and cost was cheaper than most. I tried to do same thing today. I already had app and it recognised my details. I asked for 24 hours cover but there wasn’t an option at that stage to select a date. Long story short it appears that you can no longer plan ahead. Insurance is Live as soon as you click to pay so beware as the t’s and c’s as there.
