Major Highlights of the Week

Loading Issues
The app frequently fails to load or takes an excessively long time to open, leading to user frustration and potential churn. This issue is prevalent across various devices, including the latest models, indicating a need for optimization.
The app takes over 20 seconds to load on my brand new iPhone 16, making it unusable.
Airport Limitations
Users are frustrated by the limited number of airports available in the app, which restricts their ability to find deals from their preferred locations. This limitation diminishes the app's value proposition for users in less-served areas.
I can't find Fairbanks, Alaska as a starting point, making the app useless for me.
Subscription Confusion
There is significant confusion and dissatisfaction regarding subscription charges, with users reporting unexpected charges and difficulty in canceling subscriptions. This issue suggests a need for clearer communication and easier management of subscription settings.
I signed up for a 14-day free trial but was instantly charged $200, which feels fraudulent.
App Crashes
Frequent app crashes and instability are major pain points, affecting the overall user experience and leading to negative perceptions of the app's reliability. This issue is critical to address to maintain user trust and engagement.
Feature Discrepancies
Users are frustrated by discrepancies between advertised features and actual functionality, such as the inability to use points for international flights or access certain deals without upgrading. This misalignment leads to perceptions of misleading marketing.
They say you can use points to save on international flights, but the app doesn't support this.
Accessibility Issues
The app lacks accessibility features, such as compatibility with screen readers, which limits its usability for visually impaired users. Addressing these gaps is essential for inclusivity and expanding the user base.
The app is not screen reader-friendly and does not work with VoiceOver, so I will be deleting it.

Quotes of the week

Hear from some of the most impactful users to drive changes

I have used this app since its inception and am usually very happy with it. But recently it has stopped working. I continue to get push notifications but when I click on one, the app tries to load but even after 10 mins it never opens. I just see the G spinning around and around. This happens on both my iPhone and iPad. I am only able to get the deals from the email alerts (which do open in the app). I’m hoping an update soon will fix this glitch.

I was excited to try this app but the airports I fly out of are not available in the app.

I’ve only used the free trial but I’m pretty sure I’m just going to fully subscribe after this next trip. I already had a flight booked though southwest before finding this app, and during the free trial as I was exploring apps planning another trip, it alerted me that the price dropped on my previously booked flight! For a family of 4, that totaled $250 I was refunded by southwest! Super pumped - app is fantastic.
