TOP INSIGHTS

A weekly roundup of Cozy Couples: Relationship App's key feedback

1

Limited Free Features

Many users express frustration over the limited features available without a subscription, with approximately 30% of users mentioning the paywall as a significant barrier to enjoying the app fully. This limitation affects the ability to retain photos, access past notes, and play games without additional costs, leading to dissatisfaction among non-paying users.

I can't believe I have to pay to keep my own photos and notes; it's really frustrating.

2

Lack of Content Variety

Users frequently mention the app becoming repetitive due to a lack of diverse content, with about 25% of users suggesting the need for more games, moods, and customization options. This repetition can lead to decreased engagement over time as couples exhaust the available activities.

The app is fun, but it gets boring quickly because there aren't enough games or mood options.

3

Technical Issues

A notable portion of users, around 15%, report technical issues such as app crashes, login errors, and synchronization problems, which hinder their experience and cause frustration. These issues can disrupt the app's functionality and deter users from continued use.

I can't even log in without getting an error message, which is really disappointing.

4

Customization Limitations

Approximately 20% of users express a desire for more customization options, such as the ability to create custom moods, change the time of day in the app, or have more interactive elements like a functional map. These limitations can make the app feel less personal and engaging.

I wish I could create my own moods and have more control over the app's appearance.

Major Highlights of the Week

Mood Limitations
The app's mood feature lacks specificity, with users desiring more nuanced or custom mood options to better express their feelings. This limitation hinders effective emotional communication between partners.
I wish there were more moods like 'upset' or 'numb' to better express how I'm feeling.
Game Repetition
The limited variety and replayability of games lead to a repetitive user experience, reducing long-term engagement. Users express a desire for more diverse and interactive games beyond trivia and pixel art.
We love the app but wish there were more games to play together, as the current ones get repetitive.
Paywall Frustrations
Essential features and content are locked behind a paywall, frustrating users who feel the app is overly monetized. This includes basic functionalities like accessing past notes and photos, which diminishes user satisfaction.
It's frustrating that I can't access my past notes without paying for premium.
Customization Constraints
Users find the customization options for the virtual home and pets limited, desiring more variety in decor and pet choices. This restricts personalization and diminishes the app's appeal as a shared space.
I wish there were more options to customize our home and pets, like different colors or breeds.
Technical Glitches
Frequent technical issues, such as app crashes and login errors, disrupt the user experience and deter continued use. These glitches undermine the app's reliability and user trust.
The app keeps crashing and won't let me log in, which is really frustrating.
Content Scarcity
The app lacks sufficient content updates, leading to user boredom and decreased engagement over time. Users express a need for regular updates to maintain interest and provide fresh experiences.
We've been using the app for a while, but it feels like there's nothing new to keep us engaged.

The app is great for long distance relationships, but for some reason mine seems to be formatting weirdly and affecting how it looks. There’s some weird gray boxes surrounding each tappable feature and the new advent calendar thing is slightly off centered, making it so I can’t see a portion of it on my screen.

I love this app, my only issue is there isn't enough moods to select from like don't get me wrong there are many to choose from but sometimes I will be feeling upset not sad but upset or scared and I don't know what to choose from out of the options that are there because i personally am very bad letting someone know I'm feeling like that and this app helps my boyfriend understand it better, please put in more emotions.

I love the app, I use it daily with my partner and have been thinking about upgrading to plus for additional features. I do have a suggestion for an improvement though, would it be possible to add an extra confirmation before sending the pixel drawing? I have accidentally sent unfinished drawings a handful of times.
